What we do

We help people with chronic conditions (especially the ones related to gut health and pain) to feel better by using a combination of evidence-based approaches based on psychology and neuroscience, nutrition, and lifestyle medicine.

How we do it

Our approach is individualized and trauma-informed. We go deep into your daily routine, mindset, social life, cultural background, eating habits, self-image, and medical history. We really listen! We want to know everything that you have gone through, what you have already tried, and how you are feeling now. And then we provide you the latest evidence-based treatment for your chronic condition from an integrative perspective, without medications involved. We work along side your practitioners to make sure that you get the best care possible and get all bases covered.

Who we are

The founder of mind∙body∙food∙pain is Dr. Elaine Barretto - a former scientist who, having gone through many chronic conditions herself, decided to dedicate her career into helping others in the same situation. She has spent several years going through training in different areas while diving into the scientific literature, trying to connect the dots between mental and physical health, and the influence of lifestyle in preventing and reversing disease.

Our mission is to help people understand the connection between their thoughts, habits, and what and how they eat, to then apply this knowledge in the form of practical tools to take control of their health and wellbeing.
